Sue Begg

My earliest memories of sewing/embroidery are “making” dolls clothes and filling in the shapes on transfer printed tray cloths with satin, lazy daisy and stem stitch as a child.   Although I have been known to step out of my comfort zone with mixed media pieces I am very much a traditionalist loving the older techniques such as shadow appliqué, Blackwork and smocking.  A lot of my inspiration comes from nature and the orient which is reflected in my work some of which is in private collections.
